02/17 - Format War Over: Toshiba Resigns HD-DVD - Toshiba has officially given up on HD-DVD, making the format war finally over. So if you've been waiting to buy until there was a clear victor, there is now one. However, Blu-ray will be releasing it's newer series disks soon, which will not work on players which do not have access to an update system(everything except a PS3). The real question is, do people even want an HD format? or are they happy with DVDs and downloadable content? It seems like Blu-ray has a steep hill to climb, and I'm not too sure I care if it ever gets to the top...

02/15 - Vista SP1 Performance Revisited - More on the performance of SP1 Vista.

02/14 - Vista Service Pack 1 Performance - With Vista just over a year old, Microsoft is set to release Service Pack 1. It looks like a lot of bugs have been fixed, including the terribly slow disk-writing problems. However, it looks as though a new problem has emerged, as SP1 is 50% slower than the original version when writing to USB devices. Most of the update doesn't seem to be much different, but hopefully it will resolve some of the more serious issues with the platform.

02/11 - Yahoo! Wants more Money from Microsoft - Yahoo has declined Microsoft's initial purchase price of 44.6 billion dollars. Apparently, they think their company is worth more to Microsoft...So the question now is, how high will Microsoft go?

02/06 - AGEIA to be Purchased by Nvidia - Is this a wise choice for Nvidia? I think that Nvidia could benefit greatly from some of the technology AGEIA has created, but only if they integrate it all onto one chip...the separate physics cards that AGEIA produces have yet to gain serious traction with gamers.

02/04 - Ars Technica Reviews Macbook Air - Ars Technica has just released a review of the Macbook Air. Take a look at how they feel about the machine. I hope to have a short preview of the functionality of the machine soon, but in the mean time, their review is well done.

02/04 - Man Regrows Bone Tissue in own Abdomen - Finnish researchers claim to have grown and successfully transplanted a 65-year old man's upper jaw, using his own stem cells from some fatty tissue. This is a huge breakthrough in the idea of creating replacement bones or organs for humans.

02/03 - Lite-On's Moldable Mouse - Ever had a hard time finding a mouse that feels just right? Well this mouse lets you mold it to basically any shape you so desire. I think this product is absolutely brilliant in concept, but fear that someone with a strong grip would have a hard time having it keep its shape...

02/03 - Virtual 3D mousepad - This is a really cool video of some hands-free pointing and software manipulation. I hope they start implementing this kind of technology very soon! Here's a link to the official website of the company behind it.

02/01 - Microsoft to buy Yahoo - It looks like Microsoft has put in an offer to buy Yahoo, an estimated $44.6 Billion in cash and shares. The real question is, why? Why does Microsoft want to compete with Google? Over the next couple of days I will speculate more on this subject.

December 2007

12/06 - New AMD graphics card supports DisplayPort - The new display format is to be used on the new ATI/AMD RV635 graphics chipset. Hothardware got their hands on this card, and we expect to see cards touting DisplayPort sometime in 2008.

12/05 - Playstation 3 accounts for 3/4 blu-ray players - This isn't too much of a surprise, as the Playstation 3 was for a while the least expensive blu-ray player. The real question is whether these people bought the device as a blu-ray player or a game console.

November 2007

11/13 - Windows 7 Feature list Leaked - One of the lists used to help decide what new features to include in the new Windows 7 was recently leaked to the community. Take a look to see what to expect as an update to the windows platform.

October 2007

10/23 - Griffin's Evolve - Wireless iPod speakers - I think this is an interesting product design, the dock will stream data wirelessly to speakers you can set at any position, as well as charge the speakers(when docked).

10/22 - Xbox 360 Arcade - Core with games and HDMI
- Microsoft officially announced the 360 Arcade, which we had seen around for the last few weeks.

10/20 - Rumor: HD-DVD coming to Xbox-360?
- This rumor seems to be spreading around everywhere lately, and a lot of times rumors like this have an odd way of coming true.

10/20 - Apple to Release Leopard on October 26, 2007
- Free upgrade($10 in shipping) for those who have purchased an Apple since the beginning of the month.
